Meyer Service/fluids

I have a Meyer SVLD. There used to be two Meyer dealers within an hour, now there are none. One of the former dealers is willing to do the service, but for reasons I'd rather not get into, I'm not thrilled with that option. The Fisher dealer who did all the work on my old plow (and who I loved) is closer and is willing to service my plow, but the question is, would it be a problem to use Fisher hydraulic fluids (and any other fluids) in my Meyer plow. My guess is it would not, but I don't want to make a $5000 mistake, either.

Thanks in advance for insights.

Bidding on Chains and Franchises?

Hi everyone,
I am currently in the process of preparing for the coming bidding season and was wondering about how to reach out to chain stores and franchises, stuff like banks, fast food, gas stations, etc. Are franchise owners and branch managers responsible for taking bids and choosing service providers for their own locations or are service providers chosen by the corporate office? Also, if the latter applies, does anyone know who is taken up by nationals?

I know CVS has the portal on their website for service providers, but I can't find anything similar for other companies, and those that do have it use it for products, not services.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

seasonal pricing

Hey everyone. I was looking to bid a few seasonal properties this year and have come up with my per push rate and multiplied it by the average number of events. Now what about just salting events? Should I take salt brices and double the number of average snow events? Like if we have 12 average would I take my salt price by 24?

boss V vs fisher E-Z V

looking at an rt3 boss v plow as well as a fisher e-z v, when I was at the fisher garage, I saw all the negative of the ezv plows, but from people who have run either or or both, or have made the switch from fisher to boss and vice versa, give me some perspective on these, I like the fact that I can pull up to any boss plow, as long as it is an rt3, this way I can switch plows with another truck or whatever. the versatility is nice, and I cant afford anything brand new, so fishers fleetflex is out. just looking for opinions. thanks

want perspective on boss vs fisher

I ran a fisher straight 8' HD last year on my dodge. I do light commercial, and residential drives, its a decent route, half dozen driveways, few lots. nothing huge, but im looking to expand to get larger lots and all that but that's a thread for a different day. however, I have a truck now set up for a fisher EZV, and I can run it, and put the straight blade on another truck, my only other truck. but I now have the opportunity to buy a like new boss straight blade, as well as an early rt3 v plow to run on two trucks as well, my questions are with longevity, reliability, and cost of ownership overall with these plows. everything I plow is paved, no gravel, no dirt roads none of that. the engineering questions I have is, is a full trip with a return shock on the straight blade, harder on the truck rather than the trip edge? how does the boss v compare to the ezv? I know boss are plug and play switching plows and all that but I would like to get everyones perspective on these plows. the main reason is Im running a v plow on my personal truck, and a straightblade on the other truck. I like to keep things uniform, and easy, and trucks can swap with the boss, but I would like to know what everyones opinion is with these plows, and who has run both and why. I cannot afford a new fisher, or a new dxt, so fleet flex fisher is out, and if I could afford a dxt, I wouldn't even be contemplating any of this. any insight is appreciated. I now run a 2500hd duramax diesel 2002 chevy, if that helps anybodys decision.

UGLY rust marks on driveways - what to do

$

Hey guys,do you have trouble with your plows leaving ugly rust marks on driveways. It looks like it depends on the type of cement or the age of the cement. I noticed while doing my lawns just how bad some of my drives look. I'm really surprised people have not complained . I have some customers that just poured new drives and I'm really afraid that they will get all marked up. The marks are very noticeable.
Your thoughts please.

Hi yall! I picked up and old Northman Plow on a 96 Chevy 1500 last year and it worked great all season. A couple of days ago I decided I would check and make sure it was working and clean everything up and get it ready for winter. I lifted it turned it right and left then when I went to set it down it wouldn't go down. I have never really worked on a plow setup before and really don't know where to start.:( Could someone please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Nissan Titan With Super-V LD. Want To Install 4" Lift

i've got a prg mini lift (2" front, 1" rear) on my truck currently, but i've always wanted to go higher. i want to install the rancho 4" lift, but it replaces the stock front crossmember. looking at my meyer mount, it looks like it attaches to the truck frame mostly, but i do see 2 bolts that appear to attach to the crossmember. i know that it could be made to work together, but i don't know how much altering it would take (or any at all) to get the meyer mount and the new front crossmember to mate up.

are there any meyer installers on here who could take a look at the rancho installation instructions and give me some idea about what i'd be getting into? any help would be appreciated. here's a link to the rancho installation instructions..

CASE Introduces New Snow Removal Package for the SR250 and SV300 Skid Steers

Racine, Wis., July 30, 2014

CASE Construction Equipment has released a new Snow Removal Package for the SR250 and SV300 skid steers that optimizes the machine for snow removal applications and simplifies the ordering process through the CASE dealer network.

The 90 horsepower SR250 (radial lift) from CASE Construction Equipment offers a rated operating capacity of 2,500 pounds (2,700 pounds with optional counterweight) and breakout force of 7,480 pounds. The 90 horsepower SV300 (vertical lift) offers a rated operating capacity of 3,000 pounds (3,200 pounds with optional counterweight) and a breakout force of 7,570 pounds.

The new Snow Removal Package includes high-flow auxiliary hydraulics that provide up to 37.6 gallons per minute (gpm) for use with snow blowers and brushes. The package also comes with hydraulic self-leveling and Ride Control, both ideal for smooth and controlled boom operation while engaged and while traveling. The new package also includes an enclosed cab and a heated air-ride suspension seat for optimal operator comfort during long days of working in cold environments. It also comes with a block heater to assist in cold starts, and a 4-corner LED strobe kit and heavy-duty lighting package/side lamp kit for optimal visibility – both for the operator and for drivers/pedestrians in the area. The package also comes with larger tires (14 X 17.5) for more speed and power while working on paved surfaces. A heavy-duty rear door and hydraulic couplers further add to the packages reliability.

The SR250 and SV300 are also outfitted with a new EZ EH (electro-hydraulic) setup menu that features nine preset speed and control settings that can be adjusted on the fly. This allows the operator to match controls to their preference. A single rocker switch allows operators to switch between the CASE “H” operating pattern and ISO pattern controls. New handles with additional “feel points” improve controllability and feathering.

The SR250 and SV300 also offer one of the widest cabs in the industry at nearly three feet. The cab is fully sealed and pressurized against noise, dust and fumes. The cab-forward design provides best-in-class visibility, and the low step and entry threshold makes it easy for the operator to get in and out of the cab. As with all CASE skid steers, the engine, filters and fill points are all located at the rear of the machine for easy access.

CASE Construction Equipment sells and supports a full line of construction equipment around the world, including the No. 1 loader/backhoes, excavators, motor graders, wheel loaders, vibratory compaction rollers, crawler dozers, skid steers, compact track loaders and rough-terrain forklifts. Through CASE dealers, customers have access to a true professional partner with world-class equipment and aftermarket support, industry-leading warranties and flexible financing. More information is available at www.CASEce.com.

CASE Construction Equipment is a brand of CNH Industrial N.V., a World leader in Capital Goods listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: CNHI) and on the Mercato Telematico Azionario of the Borsa Italiana (MI: CNHI). More information about CNH Industrial can be found online at www.cnhind.com.

good afternoon. im kind of in an odd situation here. for the past 8 years all we have done is commercial snow removal for restaurants, warehouses, etc. etc. etc. currently i have two condo associations requesting bids. now i am assuming that they require a different style bid that i would submit to small businesses. any advice on how to format these bids or any disclaimers? they are looking for a seasonal price for roads, driveways, and walk ways. i could really use almost like a template. any information would be great. Thanks Guys!
